“In spite of having already experienced pre-training as a design engineer and 4 years in the army, I decided to try my hand as a chef apprentice. It is a job I’ve always been interested in because, not only is it physically and mentally challenging, but I have also had to develop artistic skills to create inspirational dishes. This gives me great satisfaction and it was definitely the right decision to go down this new career path. I first saw the Steinburg Castle Hotel on the Internet and when I sent in my application, they invited me to do a week’s work experience. That was enough for me to realize that I really did want to be a chef – and that the Steinburg was the right place to do my apprenticeship. We are a great team in the kitchen and I enjoy my job very much”.
